1. Overview & Data Protection Statement

Church Shop is built with a strict privacy-first and offline-first architecture. We value the trust placed in us by church parishes, administrators, and volunteer shopkeepers. This Privacy Policy explains how data is collected, processed, and stored when using the Church Shop application.

2. Information Collection & Usage

Church Shop processes minimal personal data required exclusively for point-of-sale functionality and volunteer role assignment:

Google Account Email & Display Name: Used strictly to authenticate volunteers and verify role permissions (Administrator, Entry Admin, or Seller) assigned by your church administrator.
Sales & Inventory Data: Stock item names, SKU numbers, prices, shift ledger totals, payment methods (Cash or SumUp), and operational shift notes.
SumUp Transaction References: When accepting contactless card payments via SumUp, only the transaction approval reference (e.g. SUMUP-XXXX) is recorded for ledger reconciliation. No customer credit card numbers, CVVs, or cardholder personal details are ever stored or processed by Church Shop.

3. Local Data Storage & Cloud Synchronization

All inventory records, sales ledgers, and settings are stored locally on your device in an encrypted SQLite database. When cloud synchronization is initiated, data is synced securely over SSL/TLS directly to your church organization's cloud storage instance.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

Church Shop does not sell, rent, or trade any personal data or transaction ledgers to third parties. Third-party integrations (such as Google Authentication and SumUp Card Reader APIs) process credentials directly via their respective SDKs/REST services under their standard privacy terms.

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect app enhancements or legal compliance updates.
